Our March 11th Sale had a fabulous selection of items which was made up of over 1200 lots. There was more than 300 unreserved tray lots and a large collection of Royal Doulton figurines which drew many interested bidders.
The saleroom was filled with a selection of good quality antique and reproduction furniture which sold extremely well. The best selling lot was Lot 62, an extending Ercol dining room table with chairs which sold for £520.00. This was closely followed by the Ercol sideboard with three drawer centre which went for £120.00 and Lot 64, the Ercol display cabinet on sideboard which realised £300.00. A beautifully carved oak Monks bench drew a lot of attention and eventually was sold for £240.00.
Moorcroft is always a good seller at our sales and this auction was no exception. We had a Moorcroft Samoria The Way of the Warrior vase that sold for £700.00.
Many Royal Doulton figurines were up for auction and there was a lot of interest in the Royal Doulton Prestige figure of the Duke of Wellington, HN3432, which was marked with a ‘Not For Resale’ back stamp. This sold for £400.00. The rare large White Haired Clown Character Jug was a popular lot and made £200.00.
