Stuart Devlin silver comport, tazza or footed dish, presumably made to celebrate the Christening of 'Prince William of Wales, born on 21/6/82 ', and is contemporaneously engraved around the base as such. Fully hallmarked for London 1983, together with SD makers mark. Highlighted with gilt decoration on the rim and feathers. Measures 21.5cm x 10 cm high appx. Weight 489g / 15.73 tr oz.

George III large silver salver, hallmarks for London 1831. Measuring 44cm wide. Weight 2039g. Bears an extensive but light inscription relating to Hugh James Vardon 1850, both to front and rear. This salver was presented, together with a smaller salver, which bears a presentation inscription to Hugh James Vardon in 1850. The inscription on the smaller salver makes reference to another, larger salver (the one in this lot). The smaller salver is for sale in Lot 1149.
