Highlights from our January 2023 Auction

This adorable lot of Herend of Hungary Pottery Bunny & Mice Figures sold for £380 at our January 2023 auction.

Our first auction of 2023 took place this month on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th January and featured an exciting array of items, from 20th-century British pottery to large collections of vintage watches and more.

Plenty of lots from our Silverdale Saleroom December auction sold for a good price, so check out some of the highlights from our most recent auction below. Who knows? Maybe they’ll provide some inspiration if you have a valuation in mind.

Wedgwood Madeleine patterned 22 piece tea set

Our top selling lot of the auction was this lovely Wedgwood Madeleine patterned 22 piece tea set that found a new home for £1,400.

6 vintage gentleman’s watches

We had a large range of vintage wristwatches pass through our saleroom this month. Lot 696 comprised of 6 vintage gentleman’s watches, including a Tunis Datomatic chronograph, Montine Automatic, Maruxa Chronograph, Rotary, Falco Montre, an unknown square watch (all ticking) and a Citizen Chronograph automatic (not working). The whole lot sold for £440.

Lot 694 was a set of Jaeger LeCoultre gents watches, all in ticking order, which sold for an impressive £650.

As always, pottery pieces proved very popular at auction this month, and we saw a large quantity of rare pottery, including vases, tea ware and figures from famous names such as Royal Doulton, Beswick, Moorcroft, Wedgwood, Lorna Bailey, Coalport, Kevin Francis & Peggy Davies and more, pass through our saleroom and fetch some amazing prices. This limited edition Coalport Basia Zarzycka Collection figure My Dearest Emma40, boxed with certificate, sold for £240.

A large collection of Enoch Wood's English scenery tea and dinner ware

This large collection of Enoch Wood’s English scenery tea and dinner ware included plates, a gravy boat, bowls, a butter dish and cover, cups and saucers and more. It sold for a very respectable £240.

A Royal Doulton Flambe Pekingese Dog and Flambe Fox

This cute pairing of a Royal Doulton Flambe Pekingese Dog and Flambe Fox sold together for £240.

A De Lamerie Fine Bone China heavily gilded Robert Adam patterned set of three dinner plates and rimmed bowl

Lot 500 was a De Lamerie Fine Bone China heavily gilded Robert Adam patterned set of three dinner plates and rimmed bowl. This lot of specially made high end quality items made in England sold for £320.

A 10k gold filled ladies Omega wrist watch

Lot 693 was a 10k gold filled ladies Omega wrist watch, together with 3 x ladies Jaeger Le Coultre watches, with 3 watches in ticking order (including the Omega). The lot sold for a great £340.

A boxed Moorcroft Lindisfarne Puffins Vase

This boxed Moorcroft Lindisfarne Puffins Vase, dated 2012, sold for £220.
