Highlights from our December Auction
Just in time for putting up the tree, this beautiful collection of nine boxed Swarovski crystal Christmas tree decorations sold for £360 at our latest online auction
Our December online auction this month took place over Friday 11th and Saturday 12th December and featured an exciting array of items, from furniture and household items to a large assortment of rare pottery pieces, high end watches, whisky bottle collections and Swarovski crystal pieces too.
Plenty of lots from our online auction live from the Silverdale Saleroom sold for a good price, so check out some of the highlights from our most recent auction below. Who knows? Maybe they’ll provide some inspiration if you have a valuation in mind.
Our best-selling lot this month was this collection of primitive-made jewellery of unknown age or origin, featuring gold-coloured metal earrings and a ring. This incredibly intriguing lot sold for a brilliant £2300 this past weekend
We had a range of wristwatch and pocket watch lots go under the hammer at our December auction that proved incredibly popular with buyers. This 18ct gold pocket watch by Henry Pidduck & sons of Hanley sold for £1450, while this Victorian 18ct gold double Albert watch chain sold for a wonderful £1600
Both this Omega WWII military issue black dial gentleman’s wristwatch and this 18ct gold Omega ladies wristwatch on an 18ct bracelet sold for £820 each at our Silverdale saleroom
Whisky miniatures were another area of great interest to many of our buyers over the sale weekend. Lot 369 (left) featured 20 mini bottles including names such as The Macallan, James Macarthurs, Singleton, and Robbie Burns, and sold for £620. Lot 367 (right) was a collection of 38 boxed whisky miniatures that included signature vintage scotch whiskys, Singleton, Glendronach, Dunhill, Dimple, and Grand old Parr, and sold for £420
You might think that auctions are only for rare pottery and collectible antiques, but sometimes we get some more practical lots in too! This Heartway Royale Heavy Duty Mobility Scooter, complete with charger, sold for £550 at auction this past weekend
As always, pottery was very popular at auction this month and we saw a large quantity of rare pottery pieces from famous names such as Moorcroft, Royal Albert and Royal Vienna pass through our saleroom and fetch some amazing prices. Check out some of the best performing lots below.
These two 19th-century Royal Vienna Porcelain cups and saucers, together with another continental cup and saucer, sold for an impressive £500
These limited edition, animal-themed Moorcroft Enamels vases and circular box piqued plenty of people’s interest, with both vases selling for £320 each and the circular box selling for £300
This beautifully ornate pair of Royal Crown Derby Castleton candlesticks sold for £460 at auction
Collections of Royal Albert Old Country Roses dinner ware and tea sets always prove popular at our auctions. These three lots sold for between £300-£400 each this month!
