5 Unique, Rare or Surprisingly Valuable Items Sold at Auction

Debbie Porter

At Potteries Auctions, we are specialist sellers of pottery, antiques, and all sorts of extraordinary items.

Potteries Auctions is an auction house based in the heart of the Staffordshire Potteries with two salerooms: our Silverdale Saleroom in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, and our Cobridge Saleroom. Established in 1991, we are now one of the leading auction houses in the UK dealing in 20th-century British pottery in particular.

It’s fair to say we’ve seen a lot of different auction items move through our saleroom, but we still get excited when the hammer comes down on some high value items. Read on to find out more about some of the items we’ve found to be unique, rare, and surprising over the past few years.
