For twenty five years this local auction house has been synonymous with the sale of local pottery and ceramic collectors will not be disappointed as the first day of the sale is solely dedicated to the sale of twentieth century pottery. Featured in this first day are 900 lots of Royal Crown Derby, Wade, Royal Doulton rare figures, character jugs, animals, flambe, Bunnykins, stoneware, Beswick rare horses, animals, cattle, birds, Beatrix Potter, Lladro, Royal Worcester, Clarice Cliffe, Charlotte Rhead, Burleigh Ware, Minton, Wedgwood, Kevin Francis, Moorcroft, Reg Johnson, Carltonware, Shelley and a good collection of 19th century commemorative pottery.
Sunday is the second day of the Auction starting with an interesting selection of furniture including dining tables, oak dressers, chiffonier, chairs, a Victorian polyphone musical box and other Swiss musical boxes. There are a number of important paintings from artists such as Edmund Morrison Wimperis, Reginald Hagger and De Breanski Gustave, some interesting antique books, Dinky toy cars, Large single owner collection of rare stamps and cigarette cards (83 lots), clocks, silverware, posters, Gold and silver coins, a rare Brittannia six coin fine gold proof set, banknotes, commemorative coins, a collection of Chinese Qing Dynasty jade items, fountain pens, WWI and WWII medals and ephemera, train sets, locomotive engines, carriages and rolling stock, train postcards, magazines and photographs, sporting items including football programmes, gold Liverpool cup football medal, cricket and rugby programmes. gold and silver jewellery, diamond rings, antique jewellery, costume jewellery, silverware, scrap gold, rare items from the 1960’s include an Omega wristwatch and his and hers Rayban sunglasses in original boxes, a Rolex precision 9ct gents wrist watch, military watches, divers watches, ladies and gents designer watches, pocket watches, metal ware, Victorian lamps, Japanese pottery and other oriental art, bronze items, glassware, whisky and spirits.
