A very large quantity (97) of Victorian coloured and clear glass Piano / Furniture rests, some with factory names / marks, the details of which appear below, as provided by the vendor; 1) Registered 20.5.1859 by Davis, Greathead and Green of Stourbridge 'Pianoforte insulator' 2) Registered 8.7.1859 by Percival, Yates and Vickers of Manchester 'Pressed glass piano insulator' (Figure 2 in the article: there are two of these, one vaseline glass and one green) 3) Registered 11.3.1872 by Percival, Vickers and Co of Manchester 'Piano foot' (Figure 4 in the article: there is one vaseline glass one: the diamond mark is underneath I think) 4) Registered 12.5.1874 by John Derbyshire of Manchester (Figure 6 in the article: there are two of these lion's feet in vaseline glass, two in clear glass and one in green frosted glass.) These have the diamond mark and the company's factory mark of anchor and initials JD. There is one in the V and A which can be seen on the museum's website. 5) Registered 5.11.1880 by Percival, Vickers and Co of Manchester (Figure 7 in the article: there are two in Bristol blue and one in green) 6) Registered Design no. 316413. Registered 24.3.1898 by Burtles, Tate and Co. of Manchester. (Two in clear glass: Use of the diamond mark for registered designs was stopped after 1883 and a numbering system started)
